Where it began
The story behind Costaline
Our story begins with Costa — the eldest of five brothers, and the man our family looked to for wisdom and direction. Born in Jaffa, he trained as a hairdresser before spending the 1970s importing professional hair and beauty products from France, Spain and across Europe, at a time when few could offer the local industry that kind of access.
But his real legacy wasn't the products — it was what he taught. After their father passed, Costa became a mentor to his youngest brother, our father Gamal, teaching him how to do business properly, treat people well and think for the long term.
Those lessons crossed the world with Gamal to Australia, and became the foundation of everything our family has built here since.

“Costa’s line” — the direction, values and standard our family continues to follow.
We chose the name to honour the man who shaped how we think about family, responsibility and business — Costa’s direction, passed down through our family ever since.

The 1970s
Costa enters the industry
After working as a hairdresser, Costa begins importing professional hair and beauty products from across Europe — and later passes his knowledge on to our father, Gamal.
1999
A new beginning in Australia
Our father, Gamal, migrates to Australia and establishes DBC Hair & Beauty Supplies, built around salons, barbers and qualified industry professionals.
2017
Costaline is established
Costaline is created in Costa’s honour: built on knowledge, integrity, responsibility and long-term thinking.
